Mandy has more ideas for our PL girls - get out the paint everyone!

When I sit to do a page in my PL album... I set about trying something different each time- kinda experiment. I guess, its about finding my way with how I want to approach the album, and there are some things that are showing up- each little piece is a little LO in itself, but somehow tied into all the others and each page is different. There's nothing uniform at this stage - in a good way :P

Week 9
I really loved the pattern on the other side of the paper used as a base in Week 8 but by the time I printed out my photos (of my new kitchen going in!) - it looked like too much pattern, yet I still wanted to use it..... SO out came the paint! A lick of paint is always great to tone down a pattern, yet still see it!

Can you see that I had some brads used on the reverse sides and the remnants are showing? Keep an eye on that ..... and paint over them anyway!

And with a bit of washi tape... it covers those brad ends!

1 technique - a bundle of different uses

A little something from Karen this week girls - no matter what paper craft you are into Karen shows us how to take one technique and find a use for it in many different applications

Fom Karen:

Happy Friday everyone! I have something a little different to show you this week..

Recently Lee-Anne and Danny sent me some of the Delta Texture Magic they now have in store to play with. I have to say that this may actually be the best texture paste I've played with so far. It comes in a tube so it's nice and easy to control how much you use. But the thing that I think is the best about this particular one - The fast drying time. With normal use of a thin layer this paste is actually dry by the time you've washed off your stencil and scrapper. For someone like me, this is fantastic. I hate having to wait while things dry..

Image

So I had a play.. and this is what the end result was.. I love the extra texture and dimension using the texture paste gives.

(lets just secretly say I was a little chuffed with myself.. I had managed to create using yellow - I normally don't do yellow)

The Original Tag

Image

I sent the picture of the tag to Lee-Anne, who then said ok I've got a challenge for you, take that design concept and use it as well on a card and some inserts that could be used in a project life style album.. I said sure thing.. ( but I was actually thinking.. uhh ohh hmm can I do that much yellow??) But I gave it a go.. and I did it!!

The Project Life style inserts:

So there it is, it goes to show you, that one simple design concept can be used on any type of project!!

Project Life Mandy Style

Today Mandy has done two pages to show us, and here's what she has to share

Due to the nature of the seams in the inserts and double sided cards to go in them.... budgeting for this type of scrapbooking comes to the fore!

A few weeks ago, I showed you 'Week 2' page which were set in 6x4's in portrait style. When that page was turned over, the cards I used from
Simple Stories: products:
100 Days of Summer Signature Elements #1412
100 Days of Summer Signature Elements #1411
100 Days of Summer Signature Elements #1410
had wonderful reverse sides on them....all ready to be scrapped upon! Now that's cost saving!

Here's what resulted:
Image
I've just added in:
MME Lost&Found3 Oliver Chipboard Elements
Prima Lifetime Collection Love Tags Paper
Tim Holtz Trimmings -Seam Binding

The next page is a different format. You can have many kinds of page formats if you choose the 'Mixed Page' inserts. I'm working with 12x12 and the page below is split into quarters. This is where all kinds of 6x6 papers could be used! Its great to use up stash or you could use the boarder type papers, and then there's the choice of cutting up a 12x12 piece into four pieces

I've gone with the latter and I've found this size is fabulous to scrap - four little 6x6 LO's put together!

WRMK Cotton Tail Seedlings Paper
Prima Lifetime Collection Love Tags Paper
Prima Tiny Alpha Printery

I've stuck to trying not to put to much product on, and keeping it pretty basic and so far so good!
